Transgender Day of Visibility

This is what trans can look like. #TransDayOfVisibility

Despite our community being more visible than ever before, our visibility has been met with polarity and violence. This year marks an unprecedented amount of anti-trans bills being proposed and passed across the country to “eradicate trans people from public life,” many of which target trans youth and the families and medical care providers that support them.

Now more than ever, it is essential for those of us within the trans and nonbinary community who have the ability to be out to stand firm in our visibility, share our stories, and remind the world that we have always been around and we are not going anywhere.

Photoshoots like this have been an opportunity to celebrate trans joy, love, community, and resistance, a reminder to us of what we are fighting for. It also shows that every trans and nonbinary person has a unique experience, look, and definition of our gender identity…there’s no one way to look or be trans or nonbinary.
